Hi all, and welcome to my November 2024 blog. Long time, no speak.
As the title of this blog suggests, I've updated my webpage to include the ability to purchase signed copies of my works from yours truly. You just need to input the form, tell me who it's for, make a payment, and a signed book will wing its way to you. You can find the page here - ORDER SIGNED COPIES | Storyteller. Due to shipping costs, this is currently for UK readers only. However, if you are one of my many overseas readers and would like to purchase a signed copy, please contact me via the contact page, and I can arrange one for you separately.
I'm sorry for the lack of updates over the past few months, but time really has slipped away from me. As many of you know, I write for other people as well as myself, and since the end of August, this really has taken up much of my time. However, I really do enjoy working with other writers, helping them bring their ideas to the page, and getting their books out there to a wider audience. It's rewarding, but it also helps me improve as a writer. I get to write different styles, use different tones and phrasing, and narrate from the perspective of characters I wouldn't usually consider. It's fun.
I'm really glad to say my next book, What Doesn't Cure You, is now in the cover design and formatting stage. It's been a long time in the making, but thanks to some excellent feedback from my beta readers (selected at random from my fantastic mailing list subscribers), I think the book really has turned out well. I'm excited for you to read it. I'm aiming for an end of January/early February 2025 release, but of course I'll keep you posted on how that's progressing.
I'm currently pulling together my tour dates for next year. I aim to attend a similar number of venues as 2024, but this time I'm going to try to venture further north in addition to the shows in the south. My last show this year is Reading Comic Con on 24th November, so if you're in the vicinity, please stop by. I'm already booked to exhibit at the Horrorfied show at the Farnborough International Exhibition Centre on the 18th and 19th April. For fans of the Nightmare on Elm Street series, Robert Englund, a.k.a. Freddie Krueger will be there. It should be a lot of fun. I'll update with more dates as I finalise the tour.
On the reading front, I've recently read the Hollow Kind by Andy Davidson, Fluke by James Herbert, and Brainwyrms by Alison Rumfitt. If you want to see what I thought of them, check out my Goodreads review page here - Stacey Dighton (Author of The Faraway People) | Goodreads . I'm currently reading Holly by Stephen King, which I'm really enjoying. P.I. Holly Gibney is a recurring character who appears in a number of King books, including Mister Mercedes (a book I'm yet to read), If It Bleeds (a really intriguing novella), and The Outsider (a book I loved), so it's great to pick up on her continuing journey. I recommend it for lovers of dark crime thrillers.
Lastly, as so many people have been asking when the third and final instalment of the Luke Raven series will be written, I'm thrilled to say that I've just started pulling together the plot outline for it. Writing will begin very soon. If you've read book 2, you'll know there's unfinished business to be had there, so I'm really keen to pick up where I left off and take you with me on Raven's thrilling finale. Much more to come.
Anyway, that's all for now. As always, if you have any questions or would just like to chat, please contact me via the contact page. If you'd like a signed book, please head to the 'Buy Signed Copies' page. It couldn't be simpler.
Until next time,
SD.
